- Newspaper judging activities include entries in various categories sponsored by state newspaper associations and university student newspaper organizations. Also have been called upon to judge one local beauty pageant, a few chili cook-offs, a beer-drinking contest, a student variety show, a third-grade no smoking poster competition and an armadillo race during a Concho Days celebration in Texas.
